After investigation of a suspicious fire, where the insured had claimed that oil-soaked rags had spontaneously combusted, our Special Investigations Coverage Unit convinced the homeowner not to pursue the claim. We worked closely with the fire cause investigator to show the insured that the client could prove the testimony false.
