Intellectual Property: Licensing and Recent Developments
8:30am-Noon
(3.5 General MCLE Credits)

Beginning in the 1980s, the majority of the value of
publicly traded companies in the United States has been
intellectual property—for startups, it may constitute as much as 99% of the company's value. A solid understanding of the legal aspects of intellectual property and which IP assets can
be licensed is essential for virtually every business and their
counsel. The morning session will provide you with IP basics,
how to license and protect intellectual property, and bring
you up-to-date on the latest developments in IP litigation.

Entertainment, Media, and Marketing Law
1:00 p.m.–4:30 p.m.
(3.5 General MCLE Credits)

The afternoon session is dedicated to a practice area that not only typically does well in a recession, but is becoming a
part of every attorney's imperative to issue-spot as we all e-mail, text, and tweet our way into the public eye. This program offers general practitioners, intellectual property specialists, corporate counsel, and others who need to know the basics of media and entertainment law to help you become more knowledgeable in this evolving field of practice.
