International cartel price-fixing litigation in carbon fiber industry

Successfully represented a Japan-based carbon fiber manufacturer and its U.S. subsidiaries in indirect purchaser class action. These coordinated proceedings in San Francisco Superior Court involved an alleged $100 million-plus worldwide price fixing cartel with 13 domestic and international carbon fiber industry participants. Defended the same manufacturer and its subsidiaries in a related six-year criminal price-fixing and market allocation investigation conducted by the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice and resulting in no indictment, and successfully resolved a federal class action, an opt-out action, and a False Claims Act case.
