1:30 PM – 4:45 PM – Workshops (all registrants). Four concurrent workshops are being offered.

Workshop # 1 – "Computer Virus – An Attack on a Nationwide Network"

An associate located on the East coast of a nationwide construction firm uses his laptop computer over the weekend to download music from a peer-to-peer site. On Monday morning he connects to the firm's nationwide network and a virus he picked up from the music download immediately enters the network and starts to spread. As the sun rises across the nation, the network is infected state by state until the entire network is shut down.

Adjusting this 21st century loss will require a detailed evaluation of the event and remedial actions to be taken. This workshop will discuss the cause and origin of a virus and how it enters a network; determining the activities required to remove the virus; differentiating between removal (repair) and preventative measures included in the claim; policy definitions of "damage" and "upgrade" in the computer environment; organization of the adjustment process and potential for subrogation.

This workshop will be chaired by Frank Lombardo, Principal Consultant, LWG Consulting. With him on the panel will be Joe Levins, Executive General Adjuster, Vericlaim, Inc. San Francisco, CA; Fred Frederick, Assistant Vice President, AIG Domestic Claims, Inc., San Francisco, CA and Jess Millikan, Esq., Bullivant Houser Bailey, San Francisco, CA.

Workshop # 2 – "The Changing Face of Fraud and How it Impacts Property Claims"

Workshop # 3 – "Extra Expense University"

Workshop # 4 – "Cranes Falling From The Sky"
