Practice Experience

Matt Casey is a trial lawyer whose practice includes representing businesses and individuals who are involved in commercial, products liability and catastrophic injury disputes. Matt has tried several cases to jury verdict, has arbitrated over 100 cases to resolution, and has mediated and otherwise settled numerous cases to favorable conclusions.

Selected Representative Matters

  • Obtained summary judgment dismissal of subcontractors from construction defect contribution claims on basis that subcontractors did not have a special relationship with owners, and thus, could not have joint tort liability
  • Defended toy distributor against claim that its product contained toxic amounts of lead
  • Defended an apartment complex and property manager against claims that an apartment unit exposed tenants to toxic mold
  • Obtained summary judgment of dismissal of local non-profit corporation from a premises liability lawsuit on the basis that the lawsuit was barred by Oregon's recreational use statutes
