Portland Harbor Superfund Site

Bullivant Houser Bailey represents a party that has been involved in the Portland Harbor since it was listed as a Superfund Site in 2000. Our client is a member of the Lower Willamette Group, which is undertaking a Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study, and to-date has cost more than $60 million. The legal, scientific, and technical issues include determination of what contaminants exist in the lower Willamette, the sources of the contaminants, the effects of the contaminants, what the remedy should be and who should pay for it, and the related claims asserted by the natural resource trustees.
