Bullivant Houser is seeking an Attorney Recruiting and Professional Development Manager to join our dynamic team of professionals. The position is based out of our Portland office.
This is an exciting opportunity to bring your talents to our incredible team of lawyers and impact their careers in a rewarding and meaningful way. This position will be responsible for sourcing and recruiting attorney candidates for our 3 offices, as well as designing, implementing, and advancing various initiatives related to the well-being and professional development of our attorneys. Essential responsibilities include attorney recruiting, onboarding, associate mentoring and retention, associate professional development and engagement, and managing the summer associate program. It also involves administering various internal attorney programs and processes including the compensation process and CLE and bar compliance.
This role requires a strong understanding of both the legal industry and human resources practices, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to create and maintain effective programs that align with the firm’s strategic objectives. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Law firm recruiting experience strongly preferred
- A Bachelor’s degree or a JD
- Easily build rapport with experienced lawyer candidates
- Ability to effectively use social media and online recruiting tools to source candidates
- Proven leadership, ability to manage and mentor others
- Responsive and positive verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to effectively interact with leadership, all attorneys, candidates, law schools and search firms
- Commitment to excellent client service
- Excellent organization skills – setting priorities, initiative, advance planning, and flexibility
- Travel to other offices required
