Antoine Smith defends lawyers and accountants against professional malpractice and errors and omissions (E&O) claims and handles complex business disputes. With an LL.M in Tax, he is well equipped to represent clients in various tax-related disputes with the IRS. He enjoys working with the tax code and the mathematical elements at play with tax-specific issues. Antoine also represents clients in regulatory and licensure matters before various Boards and agencies. He is sharp in asking the right questions, analyzing problems, and catching potential errors in filings and pleadings.
Prior to joining Bullivant, Antoine was a law clerk in the Cyber Crimes Division of Washington D.C.’s U.S. Attorney’s Office and a judicial intern with Judge Theresa Fricke in the Western District of Washington United States District Court. Before law school, Antoine served in the military as a naval intelligence officer supporting VAQ-142 and Carrier Strike Group 11. His military experience instilled an exceptional work ethic and attention to detail. He also developed strong research, briefing, and public speaking skills that he leverages now when serving clients.

COMPOSITION: MUSIC AND PHOTOGRAPHY
Antoine has been playing piano since fourth grade and the violin since the sixth grade. He performed for his schools’ orchestras through high school and continued training afterward. He is classically trained, but also enjoys playing jazz and composing and improvising his own works.
Antoine is also an avid photographer and keeps a small online portfolio of his photos from around the world (www.500px.com/p/antoinejulian). It started when he took photography as an elective in high school. Of course, he now has a much better camera. Antoine enjoys the artistic aspect of capturing interesting moments, whether it’s an action sport, landscape, architectural, or street photography.
