Jacob McCormack is an Associate in Bullivant’s Business Law Practice Group. He focuses on a variety of matters, including contract and intellectual property disputes, licensing agreements, co-existence agreements, trademark prosecution, and copyright prosecution. Jacob graduated cum laude from Lewis & Clark Law School with a certificate in Intellectual Property and was awarded the Clinical Legal Education Association’s Outstanding Advocate Award. During his time in school, he worked as a Law Clerk, volunteered with Oregon Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, and served as the Treasurer of the Entertainment and Media Law Society as well as a Source Checker for the School’s Environmental Law Review.
Jacob has worked as a Legal Intern for the Small Business Legal Clinic and as a Contract Attorney. He is the author of the 2022 article “A Study in Copyright: A Scandal of Evergreening” in the Sports and Entertainment Law Journal of the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University.

OUTSIDE THE FIRM
In his free time, Jacob spends his time cycling around the Portland area or learning new songs on his keyboard. He also enjoys studying the Japanese language and Okinawan culture. In undergrad, Jacob spent a year studying abroad at Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan. To keep up his Japanese language skills, Jacob frequently plays video games in Japanese, reads manga, and watches Japanese television shows such as Netflix’s “First Love.”
