Jeanne Loftis has been honored with the 2023 Oregon Association of Defense Counsel (OADC) President’s Award, in recognition of her service, leadership, and ongoing mentorship of countless OADC members. Jeanne originally joined OADC in 2000, beginning her leadership of the organization 22 years ago as the Editor-in-Chief of the quarterly OADC newsletter. Under her guidance, that newsletter became The Verdict, a respected industry publication. Through her work with The Verdict, she has worked closely with legal giants in our industry who have served as past and current OADC Presidents, now counting many as her close friends. She cycled onto the OADC board in 2004, culminating with a year as OADC President herself in 2011. She has served as founding member of the OADC Past President’s Advisory Board in 2019. Her OADC committee work has included the Government Affairs Committee from 2009 to 2021; the OADC PAC Committee from 2009 to 2020; and the OADC Nominating Committee from 2011 to 2015.
Jeanne is no stranger to leading legal professional organizations – She has been a member of ABOTA since 2010 and was recently elected to its executive committee. She is past director of the Defense Research Institute; past chair of the Oregon State Bar Board of Bar Examiners; past chair of the Executive Committee of the OSB Litigation Section; and current National Chair of Membership for the Association of Defense Trial Attorneys. We are proud of her ongoing commitment to sharing knowledge, giving back, and providing incisive expertise to her clients and peers. We agree with OADC’s verdict, no one is more deserving of the 2023 President’s Award than Jeanne.
