JOB DESCRIPTION
The Portland office of Bullivant Houser is seeking a Staff Attorney with five or more years of experience handling civil litigation matters to join a well-respected firm that offers a collegial, collaborative and stable work environment. We are seeking a litigation attorney with strong writing skills and experience in surety law. This position involves advising and representing clients in a variety of complex legal matters, including contract disputes, corporate finance and securities, professional liability, directors and officers’ claims, regulatory agency investigations, employment liability claims, fiduciary claims, and other commercial disputes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and analysis
- Draft pleadings, dispositive motions, and other legal documents
- Review and propound written discovery
- Manage and maintain case files
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for forward-thinking professionals who are committed to helping us meet our clients’ challenging legal issues. Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Must be admitted to practice in Oregon with at least 5 years of experience.
- A strong academic record, along with excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to develop creative legal strategies
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the proven ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment
- Values diversity and teamwork
Preferred Skills:
- Admission in Washington and/or California is a plus
